Mr. Koichi Taniguchi, General Manager of the Overseas Energy Solution Strategic Business Unit, signed an amended Memorandum of Understanding (Amendment to MOU) on March 25, 2025, at Sumitomo’s headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.
This signing marks an expansion in the scope and duration of the cooperation under the ASEAN GX MOU, which both companies initially signed on November 28, 2023. The objective is to strengthen and increase investment in renewable energy and to explore innovations that reduce carbon dioxide emissions in thermal power plant projects in Vietnam.
Additionally, the two companies will jointly develop projects related to energy transition and green transformation in the ASEAN region, including LNG-to-power projects in Vietnam, in order to drive the transition toward clean and sustainable energy in the future.
